Rehabilitation of Civic Organizations and Youth Initiatives
Youth Leaders Development Foundation (YLDF) was able during the year 2007 to form the Youth Advisory Council as an advisory entity established to create a permanent link between the leaders of the institution and its students, as well as the graduates of its programs, where the members of the Council are the second row of the leaders of the institution. The Youth Advisory Council possesses the competencies and capabilities that make it able to meet the needs of students in line with its advisory role and in line with the institution’s capabilities in all aspects. The members of the Council also revive the international events and events and the events of the Foundation. Youth Leaders Development Foundation (YLDF), through its advisory board, participated in various activities such as the International Volunteer Day, where it implemented a radio program, a youth issues program, on the International Volunteer Day on December 5th , 2007.
At that time, Youth Leaders Development Foundation (YLDF) developed its strategy in its two centers, Girls World Communication Center (GWCC) and Youth Economic Development Center (YEDC), to include capacity building for emerging civil society organizations and youth initiatives. It was able to discuss a number of issues related to children's rights, such as early marriage and dropping out of schools , by developing proposals to address these issues and to enhance the role of civic and youth organizations to play a leading and effective role in their societies.
Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) sought to enable young men and women to obtain qualifications and experiences that enhance the chances of obtaining a source of income sufficient to lead a decent life. The Foundation has directly contributed to averting the unemployment catastrophe, which is a major reason for fueling conflicts and building a community base surrounded by peace through economic empowerment of youth and fruitful awareness-raising to avoid engaging in conflicts, which does the role of youth in civil society and contribute economically to their families and communities and strengthen the leadership roles of youth in national societies.
Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) continued to focus on high school graduates (both genders) to take advantage of the mandatory vacation year according to the education system in Yemen without neglecting the training and qualification of university students, as well as contributing to the technological education of its importance for young men and women, and in turn worked to build their capabilities and personalities so that they could overcome difficulties, and achieve the objectives that are based on systematic plans and a clear drawing of the future and give them an integrated educational blend of new knowledge and skills, which has strengthened the integration of young leaders into community service.
The girls also received great attention by enhancing their role in the management of civil society organizations, advocacy and human rights, since women in Yemeni society have less privileged rights, and thus the Foundation was able to enrich their human rights knowledge to become activists in the field of human rights.
