The Start of Civil, Humanitarian and Democratic Work

2003 - The Start of Civil, Humanitarian and Democratic Work

The vision of Girls World Communication Center (GWCC) expanded during the year 2003 to train girls in the legal aspect and in the aspects of social justice and gender equity to guide girls to know their rights, and to promote equal opportunities for both sexes. This is due to the marginalization of girls in closed societies governed by tribal laws, and the inherited traditional habits.

The center succeeded in graduating cadres of active girls, who are able to participate actively in order to achieve societal justice and sustainable development, and to gain full knowledge of all human, civil and democratic rights. Among the girls' human rights trainers are Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Malik Al-Mutawakel, and Professor Shawqi Al-Qadi.

Since then, the International Language Center for Girls has continued to educate and build girls' capacities in English, computer, scientific research curricula, leadership skills, and university guidance to overcome the challenges of the educational stage, as well as create models of scientifically qualified girls. It also started organizing summer camps for high school graduates, during which girls are learning two languages English and French, computer skills, handicrafts, sewing arts, embroidery, antiques production, and awareness in the areas of health, environment and water.

During the year 2003, Radhya Almutawakel took over the management of the International Language Center for Girls, a large number of personalities who are currently considered to be excellent activists' cadres and enjoy a good social and professional standing, joined the work team, including: Umm Kulthum Al-Shami, Haifa Al-Hamdi, and Safaa Rawiya, who represents the General Manager for Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) at the present time.
