A minimum of two thirds of the entire training time should be devoted to practical training at the workplace while the remaining training period shall be at a suitable training institute. The training at the institute will mainly be theoretical classroom instruction in which the apprentices shall learn core skills such as life skills, basic business English, and IT courses to prepare them for future self-employment.

The project will develop the technical capacity of the master craftsperson to implement the upgraded informal apprenticeship model covering the use of competency based training and assessment (CBT&A) methodology. Each master craftsperson will train 2 apprentices under his/her close supervision and guidance.
