Project Objectives:

• To assure that local men and women have the capacity (knowledge and skills) to combat harmful gender norms that form obstacles to the meaningful participation of women in sustainable conflict transformation processes on a community level
• To contribute to civil society by effectively influencing local policies and practices, which promote gender equality and the inclusion of women in political processes in Yemen
• To ensure that local decision-makers are more sensitive and responsive to the needs and interests of women and girls in Yemen in decision-making and peacebuilding processes
• Establish a Yemeni platform for women activists supports the sharing of lessons learned and strengthens their efforts to promote equal participation of women in conflict prevention and peacebuilding processes Deliverables

Content of project:

• Capacity Building (knowledge & skills) for men and women to ensure the meaningful participation of women in sustainable conflict transformation processes on community level through:

• Camera as Voice
• Youth Initiatives project
• Advocacy
• Training on : Conflict Sensitivity, Good Governance, peace-building, Community Participation, gender equality and norms trainings

2. Capacity building Civil Society to influence local policies and practices, which promote gender equality and the inclusion of women in political processes in Yemen through.

•  Training on: Conflict Sensitivity, Peace-building and Media Standards training, Gender Equality and Gender Norms and Social Advocacy.

3. Capacity building Local decision makers to be more sensitive and responsive to the needs and interests of women and girls in Yemen in decision-making and peacebuilding processes through.

• Training on Conflict sensitivity and Good Governance, Gender Equality & Gender Norms.

4. Women activists’ platform to support the sharing of lessons learned and strengthens their efforts to promote equal participation of women in conflict prevention and peacebuilding processes Excluded groups, civil society organizations, public authorities and other power holders effectively interact through formal and informal spaces for dialogue and negotiation.
