The Way Forward Project
YLDF has implemented The Way Forward project, in partnership with GIZ From December 2017 to May 2018, a project implementation partnership was held with representatives of 24 civil society organizations and 25 local councillors in five directorates in Sana' a (Old Sana 'a, Shoab, Tahrir, Alsabeen, Bani al-Harith) and provided and applied the community assessment card technique and was selected to increase the participation of the general public in monitoring local government performance, The cards brought together members of society, civil society organizations and local leaders to determine the utilization and provision of public service and resulted in participation efforts to identify gaps and possible ways to improve.
The project strengthened the sustainable partnership to enhance and track the effectiveness of the solutions developed. The Foundation developed training curricula for members of civil society organizations and local councils in good governance, community responsibility, community accountability and gender trends. It also implemented a joint action plan to monitor previously identified public services and statistical beneficiaries of the project: Local leaders (22 males - 5 females), members of civil society organizations (12 males - 12 females) and 8 civil society organizations.
