Launching the introductory workshop to introduce the Economic Empowerment on Decentralized Renewable Energy Innovation and Solutions to Promote Green Jobs & Environment Protection Northern and Southern governorate

In line with the institution's strategies to increase opportunities for young men and women to enter the job market and achieve sustainable income, the program team of the Youth Leaders Development Foundation launched the introductory workshop to introduce the Economic Empowerment on Decentralized Renewable Energy Innovation and Solutions to Promote Green Jobs, during the second half of July 2024. Environment Protection, Climate Security and Livelihood Improvement to lunch "Supporting Resilient Livelihoods, Food Security and Climate Adaptation in Yemen - Joint Programme (ERRYIII), Co-Funded by European Union & Sweden Government Implemented by Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) in Partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and it targets the following governorates: Lahj, Taiz, Abyan, Hajjah, AlMahwit & Hodeidah.

The program will provide sustainable livelihoods and economic recovery opportunities through supporting small businesses and enterprises the renewable energy sector. By creating sustainable employmenta opportunities and promoting the development of green businesses, the project can contribute to long-term livelihoods and economic recovery in Yemen at the individual level of providing income generation sources and opportunities and community level through providing and facilitating access to clean energy services with adaptation of climate change.

This is particularly important in a post-conflict context were rebuilding the economy and providing income-generating opportunities are crucial for stability and development.

To achieve these goals, the program will build the capacities of 600 youth (males and females) - (300 in the northern provinces and 200 in the southern governorates), then support 250 start-ups and entrepreneurship among women and youths with private sector engagement in strengthening the renewable energy value chain for sustainable income and livelihoods.
