The Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and with funding from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has launched the "Cash for Work" program in Hawra and Wadi Al-Ayn District, Hadhramaut. The program aims to improve livelihood resilience and sustainable peace by focusing on the irrigation and agricultural sectors.
The inauguration event witnessed the participation of esteemed officials, including the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mubkhout bin Madi, and the Deputy Governor for Wadi and Desert Affairs, Mr. Aamer Saeed Al-Amri, along with representatives from various government authorities in the Wadi and Desert region.
The program encompasses 17 rehabilitation projects aimed at enhancing agricultural production, increasing resilience to water scarcity, and improving water management. Additionally, it seeks to provide livelihood opportunities for vulnerable families and reduce water-related conflicts.
The "Cash for Work" program is a part of the FAO Resilience Programmed and is implemented by YLDF. It underscores the commitment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, FAO, and YLDF to promote sustainable agriculture and improve the lives of communities in Hawra and Wadi Al-Ayn District.
