Youth leaders launch the Sustainable Opportunities for Livelihood and Employment Project in Hadramout Governorate

195 displaced women benefited from the Sustainable Livelihood Opportunities Project, vocational training and employment in Yemen, in the city of Mukalla

The project, which will last for six months, is being implemented by the Young Leadership Development Foundation in partnership with the United Nations Women’s Organization, and funded by the Women’s Fund for Peace and Humanitarian Affairs, in coordination with the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons’ Camps in Hadramout

The Director of the Office of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training on the coast of Hadramout, Dr. Abdel-Baqi Al-Houthary, stressed the importance of the project for the displaced families, as it will help improve the situation of these families and alleviate their suffering. He indicated that the project is one of the projects that will contribute to achieving the living stability of the displaced family

In turn, the Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Hadramout, Abdullah Abu Bakr Bahaidan, explained the aim of the project to provide a source of income to help displaced families with the living challenges and conditions they face in their daily lives

The project coordinator, Osama Makarem, pointed out that the project consists of three main components: entrepreneurship training, job skills and vocational training. He stressed that financial grants were delivered to finance the projects of 30 displaced women and train 30% with different parties of the trainees in job skills, in addition to handing over professional bags that will help Project participants to create job opportunities for themselves and a source of income for themselves and their families
