In order to improve access to life-saving emergency food security for 752 families (5,264 individuals) of the most vulnerable and acutely food insecure IDPs living in IDP camps in Bani Hashish District, Sana’a Governorate, YLDF launched the Emergency Food Security Assistance Project with funding from Avaaz.
"Emergency cash assistance will allow the displaced to meet their basic food needs," according to project coordinator Sherif Abdel Karim, who said that this aid puts IDPs in a better position to provide adequate shelter, food, water, health, education and protection.
YLDF had conducted a study and a pre-evaluation to assess the state of food insecurity before the intervention for the beneficiaries, and it is also supposed to conduct a final evaluation to assess the level of improvement in food security after the intervention.
The targeted families will receive famous cash transfers for a period of 6 months so that they can meet their basic food needs that confirm the minimum standards of the Food and Agriculture Cluster.
