Najwa Dubais, an English teacher, spent her life such a profession with limited skills that only allowed her to give classes at institutes and universities. However, Ms. Dubais had a great passion for acquiring new skills that would potentially allow her to make something quite great in her life, develop personally and benefit others too.

The passionate spirit Ms. Dubais had then prompted her to apply for a Master’s Degree in Business Administration that would enable her to deliver in an administrative and corporate environment. Ms. Dubais had yet faced an obstacle of meeting the prerequisite of a certain number of years of experience in administration. 

Ms. Dubais’ life started to turn towards a broad horizon in 2016 when she was teaching English at the Youth Leadership & Development Foundation. She approached then the Foundation’s volunteering program, a program the Foundation established to increase the young volunteers in the civil society. The program also aimed then at advancing the knowledge and skills of young people; helping them to acquire skills they needed for job opportunities and obtain training.

The volunteering program had been also Ms. Dubais’ gate into a work she has dreamt of for some time. The program has taken her out of English teaching although she carried on this profession but at a lesser rate and she still enjoys it. The program has been still a positive move for Ms. Dubais who mastered management and administrative skills, customer service, basic concepts of gender as well as human rights. Not only that, but she had also found it as an arena for practically and professionally apply the skills she learned in project management and secretarial capacity in the Foundation.  Ms. Dubais had, furthermore, been able to attend training courses offered to the volunteers including the basics of project life cycle, plans, financial and technical reporting. 

Having completed a three-month volunteering program in the Foundation, Ms. Dubais was offered an opportunity in a consulting firm due to her enriched experience and enhanced capabilities.

As such, a human being, no matter how skilled, can still strive to acquire more know-how and skills. He/she can actually get and understand more as long as he/she is interested and passionate to get and understand further.
